Summary: When she opened her eyes and looked around, Norrie saw that the police car had halted in the middle of the street, banged up and smashed. But what confused her the most was when she saw an object, lying directly in front of the vehicle. That's when she realized: That was no object…..it was Joe.

	1. Chapter 1

** Crash**

** Chapter 1**

** Joe**

** "No, it's your turn to clean the dishes." Norrie argued back at Joe, shoving him with her shoulder as they walked side-by-side along the road toward Joe's house. **

** "I scrubbed them yesterday!" Joe insisted, a smug smile on his face. Joe found it amusing that Norrie thought he was lying; he was most definitely not. He had for sure cleaned the dishes last night, and he was going to make sure Norrie learned that. **

**He and Norrie had just been out searching for answers from the Dome, a few hours after they'd discovered the mini-dome. Nothing; they'd found nothing. Now, it was dark out, and they didn't even have street lamps to help them see. **

**As Joe prepared to cross the street, holding Norrie's hand so that she wouldn't feel afraid, (she seemed tough, but secretly, she does get scared sometimes), a light shined through the shadows. It seemed like a car was coming, but something was weird: The sound of a vehicle hummed a few feet away, but it didn't sound like a normal car just driving by; it sounded as if a car was coming straight for them….**

**UTDUTDUTD **

**"Do you hear that?" Norrie questioned Joe, staring into the dark. **

**"Yeah. Should we check it out?" Joe replied; he'd barely finished speaking when a cop car came skidding down the street. It slid sideways, and when Norrie ran out into the road, trying to avoid the vehicle, it headed right for her. **

**She thought she was a goner. But something knocked her to the ground and threw her onto the side of the road. When she opened her eyes and looked around, Norrie saw that the police car had halted in the middle of the street. But what confused her the most was when she saw an object, lying directly in front of the vehicle. That's when she realized: That was no object…..it was Joe. **

	2. Chapter 2

**UTDUTDUTD**

**The pain; the pain in his head, forehead and the back of his head, was unbearable. Yes, he'd shoved Norrie out of the way; the car would've killed her on contact if he hadn't. Okay. Yes, he admits it: He loves Norrie, loves her too much to let her be killed, loves her enough to risk his life to save hers. And that is exactly what he'd done; he'd risked his life full-on. But, Joe didn't care; if Norrie survived, he would be alright, even if he didn't survive. He would go happily, relieved to know that the girl he loves is still alive and walking the Earth.**

**"Joe!" Norrie's cry of terror jolted him out of his drowning thoughts; he was almost ready to give in to the darkness, but not before he saw Norrie, at least one more time…..maybe even the last. "Joe…." She whispered, kneeling beside him. "Why?" Her ripping heart forced her to croak, warm salty tears leaking from her beautiful eyes. "You deserve to live more than I do."**

**Joe dragged his heavy eyes upward to stare into her face. "Don't…say that…." He pleaded her, stretching out a weak, trembling hand up to her cheek. "You're amazing, and you have…..as much of a right to live as me; remember that, forever and always, Nor."**

** "Oh, Joe….I love you," Norrie sobbed, grasping his hand and holding it to her face. **

** "I….love you….too…." Joe sighed, closing his eyes. "Forever Nor, foreeeeeveeeerr…." He murmured, growing limp, his head injury creating a puddle of blood on the concrete. **

** "No…" Norrie whispered. "Joe….don't leave me," She pleaded his frozen face; she leaned forward, kissing his lips softly, and then sobbed into his chest. Even though he was still breathing, he only had ****_soooo_**** much time to live with an untreated head injury; he needed help, right here and now. **
